Yesterday, we visited the beautiful Mission San Xavier del Bac just south of Tucson off I-19. Construction stopped in 1797 after running out of funds. Thus the missing dome on the right-hand tower.

Some detail of the facade.

The beautiful courtyard behind the main building.

We were allowed to take pictures since there was no Mass going on.

The main altar

The East portico. St. Francis of Assissi on top.

The west portico showing Mary.

These are the original doors from the 1790's.

The mortuary chapel next to the main church.
